James was in heaven this past weekend when he took him to the "zuma store". We pass the store almost every day and he always shouts out "ZUMA!!!!!!!!" He had a blast looking at all the guitars. Mark and I both had fun outings this past weekend. Mark went to the Bodies exhibit and I went to see New Moon with some girlfriends.

Life as a Family of Four
Who knew life with two kids could be so fun? We've really been enjoying watching Saisha get bigger, stronger and more smiley and James get funnier, smarter and grown up each each day. James seems to always be singing or asking someone else to sing. His favorite car song is "Up a wee, down a wee, up a wee, down a wee" (repeated many times)
On the way to Little Gym last week we passed a fruit stand and James was asking, "That? That? That?" Mark must not have heard him because when I answered in my sing-song mommy voice, "That's fruit!!" Mark looked strangley at me and said, "I know." I know post-pregnancy I've lost a few brain cells but I just about peed my pants laughing that he thought I am crazy enough to just randomly shout out fruit sightings on the side of the road. We had a blast at little gym!
Mark recently put together James' official big boy bed and took him to Target to pick out some special sheets. James-o was really excited about finding the Cars characters on bedding.
Sleeping on his pillow with the "BEEG BEEG car"
Wednesday Mark took the day off because he worked a gazillion hours the week before. We tried out a new breakfast place The Dish in Ballard and enjoyed a break from the South Beach diet. James thought the face on his french toast was hilarious.
These ladies have some tricks up their sleeves...
Saturday morning Mark and James went to a Lowe's Build and Grow clinic and built a garage together. James did surprisingly well at hitting the nails with the hammer. Both the boys had a great time.
We care crazy about these amazing kids.

The First Call to Poison Control
Many of my mommy friends have had to call poison control in the past and I was wondering when it would be my turn. Well, today was the day. James was in the bathroom playing with water in the sink while I was breastfeeding in the living room. I went in to tell him it was enough water and saw that he was holding his Children's Liquid Advil bottle, now empty and full of water. I just about died. There was a bunch on the sink and floor and some on his shirt but none around his mouth. I asked him if he had drunk any and of course he said no (just like he always says he has no poops when I can smell him across the room). I ran to search on the computer for the poison control number (Emilie- you'll be happy to know I got 2 swagbucks for it) and called them up. After computing the numbers of his weight and ounces left in the bottle she said even if he had swallowed the 2 ounces left (which I think most of it he probably just dumped down the drain so he could use the bottle as a cup) it was not a toxic dose. I have no idea how he opened the bottle but I'm praising Jesus that he is totally fine!
Besides almost poisoning himself, he's been doing really well. He's exceptionally sweet with Saisha and the biggest problem we've had between the two of them is him crying because he couldn't hold her while he was sick. Yesterday she was crying in her bouncy chair and he walked over and started bouncing it and saying "SHHHH SHHHH SHHH" just like Mark and I do. He's also taken to cuddling his toys like babies. Yesterday I also found him with his fire truck wrapped up in a burp rag and he was singing "Baby boats, sail away" which is part of the lullaby we have sung to him since he was a baby.
This past weekend we changed his crib to the toddler bed configuration to get him ready for the bunk beds which are on their way. He had a great time "helping" dad with the tools.
He's been having lots of fun with his Color Me House which we scored for $20 from Costco. He loves to "cook" quesadillas and pumpkin muffins in his kitchen. He also loves that he can draw on the outside. You can also see the beautiful fall leaves in the background. I LOVE fall!
We've also had some fun outings lately with friends to the zoo and play gyms. Here's James at this year's new exhibit for penguins:
Here are James and Charlie trying to share a car at Magnuson play gym
And baby girl is just as cute as ever. She's smiling and cooing all the time. She had her 8 week appointment today (I KNOW, I can't believe she's that old either!) and she was in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. She's a chunker! We nicknamed her lizard because she loves to stick her tongue in and out. She's pretty much constantly looking for food. Her favorite noise is the waterfall sound on the swing so after night feedings, Mark and I stumble out of bed every 5 min to hit the button until she is sound asleep.

Mark and I started the south beach diet on Monday to try to lose the weight we both gained from pregnancy and eating delicious meals brought to us after Saisha arrived. Mark has already lost 6 pounds and I'm close to 5 down. We've also borrowed Jillian Michael's 30 day shred video from the Crowls and we are definitely being shredded. How in the world will we ever get past level 1?

James is TWOOOOOO TWOOOOOO
James turned two last week and we had his two-year old buddies over to celebrate with a TWOOOOO TWOOOOOO train party. Here's the crew:
Jordan, Rooke, Averie, James, Charlie and Calvin

We set up Mark's old electric train on the dining table around the cake. It was a big hit! Thank you Grandma Jane for saving it for all those years! AND thank you for the adorable train sweater vest.

Pin the smoke on the smokestack

Pinata!

The Crowls Creative Cake Creations (aka Becky and Ben) made this incredible train cake. Each cake was a different flavor. Amazing huh??
